Make a claim
FirstAssist are open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. FirstAssist must be contacted before you incur any expenses over £500. If you are physically prevented from contacting us immediately, you or someone designated by you must contact us within 48 hours. Any illness or injury costs under £500 resulting in a claim, should be paid by you. You must obtain a receipt and then reclaim the amount from us within 28 days of the event. When you call us, please quote reference Acumus Insurance Solutions Limited and have the following information ready:
- Your full name
- Your UK address
- Date of Birth
- Your UK telephone number
- Caller's contact number
- Your UK Doctor
- Certificate number
- Your UK Doctor's telephone number
- Issuing agent
- Holiday dates / flight numbers
- Date of issue
- Medical complaint
- Hospital abroad
- Details of any private health insurance
- Treating Doctor's telephone number

When you return home - Making a Claim
For all sections
If you need to make a claim, first check your certificate or booking invoice and the appropriate section of your policy, to make sure that what you are claiming for is covered.
Then telephone our Claims Helpline on 0870 224 7682 (calls may be recorded or monitored for quality purposes) to obtain a claim form, giving your name, certificate number and brief details of the claim.
All claim forms must be submitted within 28 days of your return and accompanied by original invoices, receipts, reports etc. Please refer to the relevant section of your policy for specific conditions and details of the supporting evidence that we require.
For all claims, you will need to send your original insurance certificate and your original holiday booking invoice.
Please remember that it is always advisable to retain copies of all documents when submitting your claim form.
In order to handle claims quickly, we may use appointed claims handlers.
