I want to use my car in relation to my business. Can you insure me?
Yes but it will depend upon your occupation.
I am currently insured through my employer to drive a company car. Do I qualify for a No Claims Discount?
Whilst you will not automatically qualify for a no claims discount in your own right, we may be able to offer you an introductory discount based on a safe driving history. We will normally require a letter from your company to confirm your driving history on their policy. If you would like to know whether you will receive an introductory discount please call us on the number given.
What type of cover can I take out?
You can take out the following types of cover:
- Comprehensive covers your car if it is damaged or stolen, and injury or damage to other people or their property, if you or an insured driver are legally liable.
- Third Party Fire & Theft covers your car for fire or theft only, and injury or damage to other people or their property, if you or an insured driver are legally liable.
- Third Party Only covers injury or damage to other people or their property, if you or an insured driver are legally liable.
Can I pay by instalments?
Yes, through instalment facilities provided by Close Premium Finance. Your details will be sent to Close Premium Finance for them to set up your instalment plan and they then send you the relevant documentation relating to your instalments. When you obtain your quotation online, you will be told how much deposit you need to pay and what the instalment amounts will be.
Can I drive my car abroad?
Yes, your insurance will cover you when you travel to a country within the European Union, Norway, Switzerland, Croatia, Iceland or Liechtenstein. However, the level of cover and the number of days can vary between insurance companies, so you must check your policy for full details, to ensure it provides the cover you require. If you are intending to drive in a country not named above, you must report this in advance and you may be asked to pay an additional premium.
How do I make a claim?
You can ring the 24 hour claims helpline on the telephone number in your document pack. Full details of the claims procedures are also in your policy documents.
What if I change my mind about this policy?
All products have a 14-day right of withdrawal. Should you wish to exercise this right, please return the certificate of insurance. You will be charged by the Insurer for the period of cover provided and, whether cover has commenced or not, a charge of £25 will be made to cover the costs of setting up your policy. In addition, if a discount was allowed at inception the discount will be reclaimed on a pro-rata basis, along with any charge made by the insurer. Please refer to your policy booklet/policy summary (which is made available to view, print or download with your online quotation) for details of the insurer's cancellation charges.
If the policy is cancelled after the 14-day withdrawal period, you will be refunded the part of the premium you have not used, subject to an administration fee of £25. In addition, if a discount was allowed at inception the discount will be reclaimed on a pro-rata basis, along with any charge made by the insurer. Please refer to your policy booklet/policy summary (which is made available to view, print or download with your online quotation) for details of the insurer's cancellation charges.
You may not receive a refund of any of your premium if you have made a claim, or if one has been made against you, during the period of insurance. If you are paying by instalments and have made a claim you may have to pay the balance of the full annual premium.
Will I still get a certificate of insurance if I buy online?
Yes. You will be sent your certificate within 5 days of confirming your payment.
When will my cover start?
If you want immediate cover then your policy will commence as soon as your payment has been authorised. If you select a date in the future your policy will commence at midnight on the date selected.
